THE CULTURAL TRIANGLE
Our six-day itinerary focuses on the beautiful shores of Sri Lanka’s South Coast. For those looking to explore the magnificent historic sites of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, we have an optional three-night extension to the trip which will take guests from the ancient Sigiriya Fortress to the mystical caves of Dambulla.
In the heart of the country, the Cultural Triangle connects the ancient cities of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy, boasting no fewer than four UNESCO World Heritage Sites, along with National Parks, temples and the hill country capital. Sigiriya, is ‘Sri Lanka’s uncontested jewel’ (Forbes, 2024). The ancient rock fortress rises over 600ft above a canopy of verdant jungle and previously served as the opulent palace of Prince Kashyapa during the 5th century before being used as a Buddhist monastery. The eighth wonder of the world has enthralled millions of travellers with its extensive archaeological ruins which provide a glimpse into the island’s rich and ancient history.
Our itinerary will take you through a journey exploring the country’s rich tapestry of culture, with a guided visit to the Cultural Triangle, luxury boutique hotel accommodation and all meals included.
